Municipal spokesperson, Stan Gaba, told OFM News that the unauthorised registration took place this past weekend. He added that the Gauteng government is currently investigating if residents have paid any amount to the impostors who carried out the unauthorised process. Gaba further elaborated that when investigations are finalised, those who have acted unlawfully will be arrested. The Department of Human Settlements, in collaboration with the municipality, informed residents about unauthorised housing registrations earlier this year.

Gaba concluded by urging the residents not to take part or pay money in order to get houses.
