Rustenburg court postpones sexual harrasment case to October─── 17:18 Tue, 10 Sep 2019
A man accused of sexually harassing a woman at Lanxess chrome mine, briefly appeared in the Rustenburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The case was postponed to October 7, to give the State time to peruse documents provided by the defence. According to the State, new information regarding the alibi of the accused has been added.
The man allegedly demanded sexual favours from the woman in exchange for a full-time position in August 2018.
In June, members of the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (Numsa) staged an underground sit-in demanding that the company must take action against the man.
During his brief appearance in court, Numsa members demonstrated outside the court.
