The plight of people living with disabilities and albinism was highlighted on Saturday through a colourful fashion show titled “Making Albinism Fashionable” in Klerksdorp in the North West.

The event was organised by the My Arts and Culture Exchange Festival.

Event organiser, Tsholofelo Dikoma, says following a probe into these issues with various stakeholders in that area, it was decided that a serious intervention was needed in form of fund raising, to come to the aid of these people.

She says through the help of stakeholders a maiden fashion show was organised and held yesterday.

The event was also meant to break the stereotypes and stigmatisation within society regarding albinism and disabilities.
