This is according to the MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Maruping Lekwene, who spoke to OFM News on Tourism initiatives underway in the province to boost the economy.

Lekwene highlighted that more needs to be done at local government and across all spheres of government, to ensure that there is infrastructure development and provision of services. He alludes that although they have allocated more than R24 million to the Tourism Authority for the 2019/20 fiscal year - to enable them to promote the province as a competitive tourist destination - more still needs to be done at municipal level to ensure that tourists are attracted to this vast geographic province.
