Web: During the urgent sitting last week, Ramaphosa vowed to put together a fund to address gender-based violence.
An interim committee in his office will have six months to implement an emergency five-point plan to deal with the scourge.
He outlined that the five-point plan will include measures on how to prevent gender-based violence in general, how to strengthen the criminal justice system, measures to enhance the legal and policy framework, how to ensure adequate care support and healing for victims of gender-based violence, as well as measures to improve economic empowerment of women.
