NW hospital under scrutiny─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 08:24 Thu, 26 Sep 2019
The state of the Brits Hospital and surrounding healthcare facilities in the North West will this morning come under scrutiny when the Health MEC, Madoda Sambatha, conducts an unannounced oversight visit.
The MEC who returned to the provincial cabinet and took office late last year after Premier Job Mokgoro reshuffled his cabinet, is expected to assess the state of this hospital and engage with patients on services delivered at the hospital.
This hospital is one of many that have over the years been plagued with a lack of medical personnel, long queues and a lack of resources. During the EFF oversight visit to the hospital this time last year, MPL Betty Diale accused the department of doing nothing to improve the conditions at the hospital and failing to prioritise patients.
