Several intellectually impaired children took to compete at the CUT Sports fields in Bloemfontein as the South African Sports Association for the Intellectually Impaired (SASA II) hosts their open games tournament.
A number of children and their managers came with coaches to compete for medals and trophies.
“A team will also be selected to go overseas, [representing South Africa] as Springboks”, says Nicky Klingbeil, spokesperson of the Mpumalanga team.
Various sports activities such as Cross-Country, Basketball, Football, Futsal and Netball started on Monday and are set to end on Friday with a prizegiving ceremony. This year, six provinces attended.
