Alleged kidnappers' bail application ruling postponed─── 13:39 Tue, 01 Oct 2019
The three accused of kidnapping six-year-old Amy'Leigh de Jager in September - Tharina Human, Laetitia Nel and Pieter Van Zyl - will return to court on 11 October for the ruling on their bail application.
The three, who are facing charges of kidnapping and extortion, remain in custody.
During the court proceedings, state prosecutor Luanda Ngcobo, who earlier had a conversation with the victim's mother, told the court Amy'Leigh de Jager is traumatised following the kidnapping and was too scared to go to school today.
De Jager said she often asks her parents if the kidnappers won't kidnap her again.
The court also heard that, based on the doctor's findings, the six-year-old is suffering from stomach ulcers following the kidnapping ordeal.
The state is strongly opposing the bail application before Magistrate Hussein Khota.
