Fastest driver in SA obtains his driver’s licence─── 15:54 Wed, 02 Oct 2019
The young motorsports international racing sensation from Bloemfontein officially received his driver’s licence after being tested at the Lengau Testing Station in Bloemfontein today.
“We are happy to have Stuart White in the province - racer and fastest driver in South Africa – being tested at our grounds and passing his driver’s licence test,” said Leboela Moalusi, Director of Transport Administration and Licencing in the Free State.
Moalusi further says Stuart White sets an example for everyone, especially the youth in the province, to ensure that they obtain a valid driver’s license before they take to the streets.
The 18-year-old race car driver says it is a big step with added responsibilities, him being a car brand ambassador for the past seven months. He will finally get a chance to drive on public roads by himself. This will enable him to drive to his meetings. He says he will try to set an example on the road as he will travel around more. It is definitely a milestone he was looking forward to for quite a while.
White is sponsored by Sauber Motorsport - one of the best teams in Formula 1 - and an Alpha Romeo car brand ambassador, racing in the Formula 4 international competitions. “I will now be able to go to events more regularly as it is what Alpha Romeo expected when they signed me. I will represent the brand around the country and internationally. Getting a driver’s licence today will impact greatly on my role as a brand ambassador, and not only for myself.
White will be racing at the Phakisa racecourse in Welkom this coming weekend for the last round of the SA Endurance series. He will then head overseas for the last round of this year’s F4 series, after which plans for next year will commence, he says.
