The water supply interruption is mainly as a result of an emergency repair to a bulk water pipeline in Heidedal and an upgrade alteration to a new meter outlet at the Longridge reservoir in Ferreira.

The areas that will be affected include Rykmanshoogte, Raceway, and a portion of the industrial area, as well as Vista Park, Erlich Park and Coca Cola.

This water interruption follows a series of repairs and upgrades by other municipalities such as the Sol Plaatje municipality in the Northern Cape who embarked on replacing an aged water pipe in a 3-day scheduled water supply interruption but residents were left without water for almost a week due to unforeseen challenges.

The water supply interruption in Mangaung will start from 09:00 until 16:00. The municipality has arranged for water tankers to be on standby at all affected areas.
