'Jonas, Dukwana lied about Gupta meetings' - #DuduzaneZuma | News Article

Former President Jacob Zuma’s son Duduzane Zuma has again taken a stand at the State Capture Inquiry on Tuesday.

This, after he took a stand on Monday where he denied ever meeting Former Free State Economic Development MEC Mxolosi Dukwana, amongst others. Zuma is today shedding light on his relationship with the Gupta family and why they held meetings at the Gupta’s Saxonwold compound. Responding to claims made by former finance deputy minister Mcebisi Jonas that he was offered R600 million and a ministerial position during a meeting held between himself, Zuma and businessman Fana Hlongwane in 2015, Zuma denied the bribe offer but not the meeting. He said Jonas knew where they were going and who they were going to meet when they went to the Gupta compound.

Web: On Monday, he told the commission that he was not sure what Dukwana was talking about and that he is in disagreement that the meeting, claimed by the former Free State MEC, ever took place.

Dukwana previously claimed that he was introduced to the Gupta family by former Free State Premier Ace Magashule back in 2011 and that he was offered a massive bribe if he signed off on a mega-city deal.

He said Magashule, who is now the ANC’s Secretary-General, took him to the Gupta compound without his knowledge of where they were going and that Rajesh Gupta and Duduzane Zuma were present at that meeting.

Dukwana said he was offered a R2 million monthly fee in exchange for his signature on a document that would have authorised a R41.8 billion government investment deal to build a "New City" in the Lejweleputswa District Municipality, which would have benefited the controversial Gupta family, Magashule, and their associates.
