#MokoenaMurder: Case accusing pastor, deceased's wife postponed | News Article

The state has asked for a postponement until Monday 14 October 2019 in the matter against the pastor Elvis Sunnyboy Galeboe and Kelebogile Mokoena, the wife of slain Lucas Mokoena, in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's court in Free State.

This as the two appeared in court for a bail application following their arrest in July and August 2019 for their alleged involvement in the murder of the Bloemfontein businessman and farmer. The state is accusing Galeboe and Mokoena of concocting the murder of the deceased to continue with their alleged romantic relationship. The State prosecutor, Johan de Vries, today told the court that Galeboe, with an alleged distinct colourful background, has been a regular feature in at least two murder incidents executed in a similar fashion than the incident Mokoena fell victim to. De Vries also told the court that the state will lead evidence proving that in all these incidents Galeboe has had ties with alleged hitmen.

Galeboe today confirmed and admitted to owning four motor vehicles but none of it is registered in his name. This includes a Ford Ranger he says he bought from his co-accused Kelebogile. He also confirmed that he owns a BMW, Audi and a Renault Sandero. The court heard today that Galeboe has multiple prior arrests in three different towns in Central South Africa. In one case, a state witness ended up being murdered.

The court further heard that in every arrest he revealed a different address as opposed to what he says is his permanent residential address. State prosecutor De Vries also confronted Galeboe with an alleged confession of his involvement in the murder of a state witness in Stilfontein near Khuma outside Klerksdorp in the North West.

Galeboe, however, rejected De Vries' statement and told the court that he only made a confession of having been in possession of the deceased's vehicle, donated to him by the church. This then forced the state to ask for a postponement during his cross-examination to allow the state and state prosecutor and de Vries, to obtain the confession Galeboe allegedly made while on trial in Stilfontein.
