#MokoenaMurder: Pastor and wife to know their fate today─── LUCKY NKUYANE 05:04 Mon, 14 Oct 2019
The two accused in the murder case of Bloemfontein businessman and farmer Lucas Mokoena, his wife Kelebogile Mokoena and pastor Elvis "Sunnyboy" Galeboe, will know their fate during their bail application today.
Magistrate Ryan Ishmail is expected to make his eagerly awaited decision on Galeboe and Kelebogile as they both stand accused of orchestrating a hit on Mokoena in his Fichardt Park home on July 8.
State Prosecutor, Johan de Vries is also expected to conclude his cross-examination on Galeboe after he was forced to ask for a recess on the matter until today.
This was to enable him and the investigator in the matter to acquire more information on Galeboe's alleged confession he made on the murder of a woman in Mothibistad in Kuruman in the Northern Cape.
Galeboe allegedly admitted to having paid hitmen who kidnapped a state witness, who was subsequently murdered and the case was struck from the court roll. Galeboe and Kelebogile were arrested in July and August 2019 respectively for their alleged involvement in the murder of the Bloemfontein businessman and farmer.
De Vries on Thursday told the court that Galeboe has been a regular feature in at least two murder incidents executed in a similar fashion to the incident which Mokoena fell victim to. De Vries also told the court that the state will provide evidence proving that in all these incidents Galeboe has had ties with alleged hitmen.
Galeboe has admitted to owning four vehicles, but none of them are registered in his name. This includes a Ford Ranger he says he bought from his co-accused Kelebogile. He also confirmed that he owns a BMW, Audi and a Renault Sandero. The court heard that Galeboe has multiple prior arrests in three different towns in Central South Africa.
It's alleged that hitmen shot Mokoena in his Fichardt Park home on July 8 in the presence of his wife. De Vries also questioned his alleged romantic relationship with the co-accused. He told the court that the accused got tired of the marriage between the deceased and co-accused, and subsequently organised a hit to take out the deceased in the matter.
