This as the EFF is set to table a motion in the Provincial Legislature this week seeking to remove the so-called colonial symbols at various institutions - which include Universities.

The FF Plus provincial leader, Jan van Niekerk, says all racial groups' history must be respected, and further says the EFF has clearly shown no interest in efforts of nation-building.

Van Niekerk says this attack on Afrikaner history contradicts nation-building, and the content of the motion contains allegations that black people have no images of heroes in the Free State and that only white heroes are depicted in the province.

This comes as the University of the Free State is struggling with the relocation of a statue of MT Steyn off of its Bloemfontein campus. The EFF is yet to respond to OFM News' queries.
