The route between Bloemfontein and Botshabelo has once again claimed a life, and left three others injured when a bakkie and a group of cyclists collided outside Bloemfontein on Friday afternoon. 

Private Emergency Medical Service - ER24- confirms that when their paramedics arrived at the scene they found most of the injured lying across the road. 

Spokesperson, Ineke van Huyssteen, says upon assessments they found that two cyclists were left seriously injured and one of the injured was airlifted by medical helicopter to hospital while the other patient was transported via ambulance to hospital.

He, however, later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Van Huyssteen says a female passenger in the bakkie also sustained minor injuries. 

Police are still investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
