The Hawks provincial spokesperson, Tlangelani Rokhotso, says Zehong was arrested through a joint operation by the Serious Organised Crime Unit of the Hawks, the Flying Squad, and the Gambling Board, amongst others. She says the 29-year-old suspect is alleged to have illegally manufactured gambling machines and he faces charges under Section 60 and 82 of the Gambling Act. Rikhotso says the fifty-nine gambling machines, several gambling-related equipment, and cash were subsequently seized. 

“He was also slapped with an additional charge forcontravening the National Environment Management BiodiversityAct (NEMBA) after the skins of a Pangolin and Python were found in his house during the search. The matter has been remanded to 17January 2020 for further investigation,” says Rikhotso.
