The police spokesperson, Adele Myburgh, says this has been evident when 221 suspects were arrested during the operation which ran from 15 to 18 November 2019.

In total, 77 of the suspects were arrested in Klerksdorp, 58 in Rustenburg, 47 in Brits, 23 in Zeerust and 16 in Vryburg, for various crimes such as contact crime, property-related crime, and many others.

Myburgh says the fight against crime has been intensified. Community and private partnership is another phase of crime-fighting as the festive season approaches.

Residents are urged to think positive, be pro-active, think ahead, do not abuse alcohol and act responsibly during this festive season.
