Several tributes have been left on social media sympathising with the family of Rev Khotso Lesia who is the brother of Major-General Solly Lesia, a member of police management in the Free State.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, but police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, confirms the lifeless body of the middle-aged Lesia was found in the sitting position on Friday night, with his service pistol next to him. Reports indicate he was found in his work office, after he failed to make it home. Makhele says while no foul play is suspected, an inquest into the matter has been opened for further investigation.
