'Missing toddler' (3) decided to visit his grandmother | News Article

A three-year-old toddler who was reported missing on Monday 2 December, Amogelang Ntsane, has been found and reunited with his mother after his spur-of-the-moment visit to his grandmother’s house.

The Free State Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says the toddler was found unharmed at his grandmothers three days later after he walked himself to the house and slept there. She lives just one street further . Ntsane was reported missing by his mother after she could not locate him anywhere. Mbambo says this as the little one was last seen playing with his friends in Phase 9 near Rekgone Primary School at Bloemspruit, Bloemfontein.

Mbambo says we often experience reports of missing children this time of the year. “We urge parents and family members to be vigilant and know where their children are at all times,” she adds. “Missing children or people should be reported at the nearest police station immediately, as there is not a 24-hour waiting period to report a missing person. The longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to trace the missing person,” she further adds.

Meanwhile, the provincial commissioner Moeketsi Sempe says the community is also urged to download the recently launched MySAPS App which is available for free on IOS or Android that allows citizens to submit crime tip-offs anonymously, find nearest police stations and send emergency messages when in danger, or call the Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
