NC police nab suspects for unlicensed firearms | News Article

Two Northern Cape suspects facing charges of the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition are soon expected to appear before the Mothibistad Magistrate’s Court. This, after they were arrested in two separate incidents in Seoding village.

Police spokesperson, Mohale Ramatseba, says while a 26-year-old man was arrested at Seoding village outside Mothibistad for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm, another was arrested for being in possession of 15 live rounds of ammunition in the same area after a search and seizure operation. He adds that the arrests on Tuesday also included those of two men aged 30 and 36 years of age, who were arrested for possession of two suspected stolen truck wheels. All suspects are soon expected to appear before the Local Magistrate’s Court.

The John Taolo Gaetsewe Police Cluster Commander, Johan Bean, has meanwhile applauded police officials for the arrests and sent a stern warning against any criminal activities during this festive season.
