The North West province has the highest number of delegates from Central South Africa that are expected to attend the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) 2nd National People’s Assembly in Gauteng.

Over 3 800 delegates from across the country are expected to elect the party's new leadership, with some positions expected to be highly-contested.

The EFF's secretary-general, Godrich Gardee, confirmed during a media briefing on Friday that the NW has a total number of 388 delegates, Free State has 236 and the Northern Cape has 156 delegates attending the event today.

The EFF again finds itself pitted against the South African National Editors Forum (SANEF) over its decision to not allow certain journalists, from publications such as The Citizens, Daily Maverick and Mail&Guardian, among others. Gardee,

in response, Gardee said it is practically impossible to host the high number of the journalist who applied to cover the event.

The EFF will nominate names for the top six leadership this evening.
