NW premier appoints new traditional council administrators─── 11:46 Sat, 21 Dec 2019
The administration issues of two North West traditional councils might be resolved.
This comes after the premier, Job Mokgoro, announced the appointments of two new administrators, Phineas Tjie and Jim Matsho, for the Bakgatla ba Kgalefa and Bakoena ba Mokgopa traditional councils.
Tjie and Matsho’s appointments comes after being recommended by the Baloi commission of traditional leadership and disputes into Bakgatla ba Kgalefa affairs.
Mokgoro says the provincial government will also consider hiring support staff for the two administrators, considering the magnitude of the work.
The duo will be responsible for all the administrative and financial reports of the traditional councils and the community.
Mokgoro urges all the Bakgatla ba Kgalefa council members to give Tjie and Matsho the necessary support, space and an enabling environment to fulfil their mandate without any obstacles.
He further says the two will start effectively from 6 January 2020 and will be introduced to the councils in due course.
