Some residents told OFM News that the Emfuleni Local Municipality is failing them as they have allegedly been experiencing electricity and water supply interruptions.

Responding to this, the municipality explained that the water supply interruptions are due to a power outage at the Langerand reservoir, which led to higher-laying areas experiencing unplanned water shortages. The power failure at the reservoir resulted in water levels dropping below 20%, however, power has now been successfully restored and water levels are rising slowly.
