NC man sentenced to ten years─── MARVIN NTSANE 08:26 Wed, 11 Mar 2020
A 61-year-old man, Tobia Toffa, was sentenced to ten years imprisonment by the Barkley West Magistrate's Court in the Northern Cape yesterday.
This after he was arrested in 2018 for the murder of a 72-year-old Miriam Soetwater, who is the mother of his girlfriend. The police spokesperson, Mohale Ramatseba, says on the day of the murder, the suspect was involved in an argument with his girlfriend. It is alleged that the mother tried to intervene and she was cut in the stomach with a sharp object. She was declared dead on the scene.
Ramatseba further says the suspect was arrested on the next day. He was later released on bail.
