Department screens more than 1000 persons in the Free State─── 12:37 Sat, 21 Mar 2020
The Department of Health in the Free State has screened one 1079 individuals, including parents, teachers and pupils of Brandwag Primary School in Bloemfontein.
This is according to the departmental spokesperson, Mondlo Mvambi.
"We had initially earmarked a total of eight hundred, with six hundred pupils and a combined 200 teachers and parents, but we had an influx of contacts and other panicking people that wanted to be screened," Mvambi says.
"It is pleasing to mention that there were five people that were apparently showing signs of infection, but these have been cleared of any possible infection with Covid 19," Mvambi adds.
"What is more pleasing, is that the two children at Brandwag, whose mother tested positive and who were in quarantine at home, have tested negative," Mvambi concludes.
