Alleged Bfn drug dealers remain in custody─── MARVIN NTSANE 16:27 Wed, 25 Mar 2020
The case against six alleged drug dealers was today postponed to 1 April 2020 for a formal bail application in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court in the Free State.
They will all remain in custody after they were arrested earlier this week. They are aged between 31 and 50.
The provincial Hawks spokesperson, Lynda Steyn, says they allegedly sold various types of drugs to undercover police members. She says the group’s illegal activities were monitored and evidence was gathered since 2017.
OFM News earlier reported that they are facing 16 charges of drug dealing. Another charge of possession of drugs was added to one of the suspect's charge sheet.
Steyn says the arrests follow the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime's project-driven investigation in the greater Mangaung area of Bloemfontein on 23 March 2020.
