#CoronavirusFS: Interstate amends FS bus schedule─── MARVIN NTSANE 11:06 Thu, 26 Mar 2020
Well-known Bloemfontein transport service, Interstate Bus Lines, says they will be operating under strict conditions during the 21-day lockdown in the Free State.
Interstate CEO, George Mokgothu, says their buses will operate only in the morning and in the evening to ferry and collect passengers home.
He adds that letters from employers will be required to prove the passenger is an essential service provider. He says passengers will also be required to be in official uniforms.
Mokgothu also adds that social distancing will be maintained inside the bus. There will also be no drinking, eating, smoking, snuff or littering allowed.
Passengers are asked to comply and also exercise individual responsibility.
This follows after the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, announced a country-wide lockdown of twenty-one days, starting at midnight tonight.
South Africa has registered 709 positive Covid-19 cases. No fatalities have been recorded.
