#Coronavirus: Meshoe expecting test results today | News Article

The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) leader, Kenneth Meshoe, confirmed that he will receive his Coronavirus test results on Thursday 26 March 2020.

He tells OFM News that his results will only be announced this afternoon. This after he was part of five international guests who tested positive after a church gathering at the Divine Restoration Ministries in Bloemfontein this month.

In an exclusive discussion with OFM News on Friday 20 March, Meshoe admitted he was at a church service in Bloemfontein where the well-known writer and evangelist, Angus Buchan, were also among those attending the gathering. So far the Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, has announced that the spike in the number of those infected by the Covid-19 in the province, which now sits at 30, is linked to the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast which was held by the church.

At least two provinces in Central South Africa, which include the North West and Northern Cape, have reported that some of their cases trace back to the church gathering held in Bloemfontein.

OFM News previously reported that the Northern Cape’s first two positive Covid-19 cases, of a couple from Hartswater, attended the church service in Bloemfontein. North West MEC, Madoda Sambatha, said a 21-year-old female, who tested positive for the virus in the province, also came into contact with international visitors during the service at the Divine Restoration Ministries, where five international guests tested positive for Covid19.

On Wednesday 25 March 2020, Mkhize, described the situation pertaining to the coronavirus in the Free State as a concern. He said they were still looking for 300 people who attended the service. "There has been an increase in coronavirus cases in the Free State after churchgoers in Mangaung became infected."

So far South Africa has recorded 709 cases of Covid-19.
