This follows the latest announcement of confirmed positive cases by Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, on Sunday night. OFM News previously reports that the first two confirmed cases in this province came from Hartswater, where a couple tested positive after attending a church gathering in Bloemfontein in the Free State. One of the other confirmed cases includes an SABC reporter stationed in its Kimberley office who tested positive after coming into contact with two German tourists.

The SABC spokesperson, Mmoni Seapolelo, previously told OFM News that as a precautionary measure, they have suspended the operations in their Kimberley office and all employees are in self-isolation. She said the employee concerned is doing well and his condition is being monitored. Meanwhile, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in South Africa has risen by 93 on Sunday. That takes the total number of cases in South Africa to 1280 from 1187.  Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, says the death toll in the country rose to two on Sunday, up from one the previous days. South Africa has the highest cases of Covid-19 in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Southern African Development Community (SADC). President Cyril Ramaphosa ordered a 21-day national lockdown to flatten the curve of Covid-19. 

So far we have 31 patients who have recovered from the virus.
