FS ambulance involved in an accident─── MARVIN NTSANE 16:44 Thu, 02 Apr 2020
An Emergency Medical Services (EMS) ambulance was involved in an accident with a truck on the N5 road between Winburg and Senekal in the Free State today.
The two members in the ambulance suffered minor injuries from glass lacerations. They were both transported to the Itemoheng Hospital in Senekal for treatment. The provincial EMS spokesperson, Sipho Towa, says the driver of the truck did not stop at the scene afterwards.
He says the ambulance was travelling back to Qwaqwa from Bloemfontein. He says it is alleged that the EMS crew tried to avoid the oncoming truck, however, it ended catching the ambulance on the side.
