This follows a similar operation at the outdoor sports centre in Rocklands yesterday. More than 2,300 people were screened successfully.

The province's MEC for Health, Montseng Tsiu, was present and made sure that one COVID-19 suspect was taken to hospital as a precaution while covered in appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Tsui praised the hard work of health workers and thanked them for their help in combating the spread of the virus. 

She also added that the gadgets donated by Vodacom have been of help during the screening process.
