Speaking ahead of the municipality's awareness campaign to farms outside Viljoenskroon, Phooko, says it is through adhering to the national lockdown regulations that the country will be able to combat the spread of the virus.

He highlights although there is no confirmed report of the virus within the municipality's jurisdiction, it remains crucial that they disinfected public areas and teach members of the public about the importance of social distancing, washing of hands and other measures required to stay safe.

Phooko tells OFM News the municipality will be accompanied by Agriculture and Rural Development MEC, William Bulwane, on Tuesday when they visit different farms. He confirms among others they will be disinfecting farm houses, giving away sanitisers as well as food hampers.

Phooko further encourages all residents of Moqhaka to abide by the lockdown regulations and stay at home.
