#Covid19: Bulwane express concern over Vierfontein farm dwellers─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 13:56 Thu, 23 Apr 2020

Free State Agriculture and Rural Development MEC, William Bulwane, says they are working on plans to ensure the safety of farm dwellers in the Vierfontein area.
Following his visit alongside the Mayor of the Moqhaka Municipality Lucky Phooko, earlier today, Bulwane says it is disappointing that approximately 40 family members living in this area are without ablution facilities, electricity and can only rely on a communal tap.
Bulwane says they are in talks with the local municipality to ensure that some farm dwellers in different parts of the municipal jurisdiction are relocated to developed areas.
He told OFM News that whilst they are working on these plans, it remains crucial that the government takes Covid-19 awareness campaigns to residents residing in all remote areas and that they are also handed out food parcels and taught about the importance of hand washing and social distancing.
Bulwane and Phooko handed 40 food parcels to residents in the area and disinfected their homes.
Municipal spokesperson, Dika Kheswa, adds that sanitizing local clinics and embarking on more cleaning campaigns are among some of the covid-19 campaigns that will be rolled out in Moqhaka, next week.
