The North West MEC for Health, Madoda Sambatha, says he is delighted to announce that the doctor who tested positive for the coronavirus two weeks ago, has been re-tested after isolation and his results came back negative.
Sambatha made this announcement yesterday during his visit to the isolation ward at the Klerksdorp/Tshepong hospital complex.
He also welcomed the good news that all forty-four healthcare workers at the facility were tested and their results came back negative.
According to health spokesperson, Tebogo Lekgethwane, the department has successfully traced fifty-six people who came into contact with the doctor.
He says all fifty-six traced patients were also isolated for 14 days.
He further explained that two of these patients who showed symptoms were tested, but their results came back negative.
