The alleged rape incidents occurred  between 2018 and 25 April 2020. The suspect has allegedly been threatening his daughter that should she break her silence, he will post her nude pictures on social media. The victim finally had the courage to report the offences on 25 April 2020, leading to the suspect's arrest on 29 April 2020. The suspect is expected to appear before the Galeshewe Magistrate's Court today and should the suspect apply for bail, it will be opposed.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Risimati Peter Shivuri, is urging any person who has been sexually abused or who is currently being abused by family members, to break their silence and allow the law to deal with the perpetrators harshly.

Shivuri added: ''Heinous criminal acts perpetrated by heartless criminals cannot be curbed if they are not reported to the authorities.''
