MEC Montsheng Tsiu made this statement during the screening of motorists for Covid-19 at one of three roadblocks in Bloemfontein on the N8 on Saturday. 

Tsiu says instead of being home with their families to celebrate Workers Day on May 1, they were hard at work. 

Meanwhile, Premier Sisi Ntombela on Friday announced that a sixth person passed away from the virus - with 122 cases having been confirmed positive and most of these reported in the Mangaung Metro - which include Bloemfontein. 

Ntombela also announced on her Facebook page that 95 patients have recovered from the virus - meaning that only 21 cases are active so far. 

She further announced that  758 969 people have been screened while 7 494  tests have been counted.
