Bloemfontein Courant reports the power entity announced earlier today that all Customer Service Hubs have been closed in an attempt to avoid the spreading of Covid-19.

According to the Eskom Free State Communications Officer, customers are urged to use the various technology channels at their disposal for any customer enquiry instead.

“Eskom in the Free State is, however, experiencing numerous cases where customers are approaching technical staff and Eskom vehicles for customer enquiries.

"Customers are urged to refrain from doing this as it prevents Eskom’s technical staff from performing their jobs effectively and safely. This also jeopardises Eskom’s social distancing measures as one of the efforts to limit close interactions,” read a statement.

“To protect Eskom employees and customers during the Covid-19 pandemic, face-to-face interaction has been temporarily suspended,” it elaborated.
