Provincial Finance MEC Gadija Brown says the Free State already spent R45 million on essential good and services.

She says the total amount of commitments, however, amounts to R90 million.

Her department was making a presentation – during a virtual meeting – reporting on the spending by the provincial government to members of the Portfolio Committee of Public Accounts in the Free State Legislature.

Brown says she is confident that the budget of R225 million for the first stage – which is the first quarter of the 2020/21 financial year, would be enough to cover expenses.
