The police in the North West are investigating a case of attempted robbery after intruders entered the house of a well-known political analyst, André Duvenhage, in Potchefstroom.
Police spokesperson, Adéle Myburgh, says the incident that took place on 5 May left Duvenhage seriously injured after he was stabbed twice in his left arm.
She says according to information, Duvenhage was working in his kitchen at night when he heard a noise at his door and found an unknown man who was being assisted by a second suspect to get into the house.
Duvenhage was allegedly struggling with the suspect who was already halfway through the burglar proof when the second suspect stabbed him twice in his arm. The suspects retreated and fled.
