FS Health hands over #Covid19 PPE─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 09:08 Sat, 09 May 2020
The Free State Health MEC, Montseng Tsiu, will this afternoon hand over Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to hundreds of Red Cross volunteers in Bloemfontein.
This, as the number of positive cases in the province stands at 133 with 102 recoveries and six deaths.
Provincial health spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, says Tsiu will specifically be handing over face shields, which volunteers are expected to use to protect themselves against Covid-19 as they interact with people while they conduct daily public and door-to-door screening.
Tsiu, together with the organisation's volunteers, will thereafter be expected to head to Twin City Mall, Lemo Mall and Rocklands Mall in Mangaung where she will hand over face shields to frontline retail workers.
Mvambi says they will also monitor adherence to social distancing and the correct usage of PPE.
