Qwaqwa residents advised to store water | News Article

Maluti-A-Phofung (MAP) Water is advising residents of Qwaqwa in the Free State to store water after a Fika Patso Water Treatment Plant stopped operating last night.

According to MAP Water's spokesperson, Kelopile Dlengezele, this is after a pipe burst at Letsha-le-Maduke.

She apologised to residents for any inconvenience and further mentioned that water tankers will be deployed to the affected areas until the matter is resolved.

Dlengezele added that a maintenance team has been deployed and that repairs may take until Wednesday.

The Fika Patso Dam supplies water to over 80% of Qwaqwa residents and its water level is currently at 43%.
