Mashinini's briefing comes after the minister of transport, Fikile Mbalula, announced earlier this week that driving testing centres, registering authorities, vehicle testing stations and driving schools will be allowed to operate from the first of June.

Mbalula said all centres must adhere to lockdown regulations before reopening and if the required measures are not in place, centres will not be allowed to operate.
