The Department of Health Spokesperson, Lebohang Majaha, says the individual was reported on Wednesday as unallocated.

He says the person has since been removed by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) and allocated to the neighbouring central South African province.

This is the third case to be removed from the province's caseload this week, after two positive cases were re-allocated to Gauteng.

So far the province has seen about 61 active Covid-19 cases. This, after 33 patients recovered from the virus and one death was recorded from 95 positive cases.

"There is also an 84-year-old woman from the Karoo Hoogland Local Municipality in the Namakwa District who was admitted to hospital in the Western Cape. This person was previously recorded as a positive person in the Western Cape, but has since been reallocated to the Northern Cape," Majaha says.

So far over a million (1 293 725) people have been screened for the virus in the province while 10 215 people have been tested.
