#SchoolsReopening: FS Premier to brief media on #Covid19 measures─── LUCKY NKUYANE 06:42 Tue, 09 Jun 2020
Free State premier, Sisi Ntombela, is expected to brief the media today on the implementation of measures set to curb the spread of coronavirus in schools in the province.
Ntombela will be joined by the MEC for Education, Tate Makgoe, who will elaborate on the province’s plans for the phasing-in of learners.
School pupils in Central South Africa completed their first day of school on Monday under Coronavirus regulations meant to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Yesterday thousands of Grade 12 and 7 pupils from at least 3000 schools across the Northern Cape, Free State and North West were back behind their desks under strange new circumstances.
Learners had to adjust to new Covid-19 safety measures, set to curb the rapid spread of the virus.
Earlier North West premier, Job Mokgoro, said he was pleased with all the measures that were put in place when he paid a visit to Reivilo High School and Lokgabeng Primary School in Mokasa Village in Taung.
Northern Cape premier, Zamani Saul, led school visits across the province.
The reopening of school follows deliberation by the national department of education and different stakeholders, after the initial plan to reopen schools was met with harsh criticism from different quarters of South Africa.
