Another municipal building in the JB Marks Local Municipality, which includes Potchefstroom in North West, has been closed due to a confirmed Covid-19 case.
The municipal spokesperson, Willie Maphosa, says one of the staff members who works in the electricity section was confirmed to be coronavirus positive yesterday. He says the affected offices have been closed for the decontamination process to take place. He also states that the offices will reopen again for services later this week. Maphosa says all electricity related matters should be reported to the disaster management call centre at: 018 299 5347. He further states that the public is reassured that the situation is under control and he apologises for the inconvinience caused.
This is the second case and office being closed this week in the same municipality. OFM News reported that the municipality's main Dan Tloome Building was closed on Monday after another coronavirus case was confirmed. Maphosa said that building will remain closed until Friday for the decontamination process to take place. He further stated that essential services will still be provided as other municipal facilities are not affected.
