Two alleged lovers’ bodies found in Bloemfontein─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 08:15 Sun, 28 Jun 2020
Police in the Free State have confirmed that two cases of inquest have been registered following the discovery of a man and a woman's bodies near Gwen Bali Water World in Bloemfontein.
Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says the two, thought to be lovers, were found on Friday morning.
She adds they were discovered after a complaint was received from a community member about a vehicle that was parked at the Gwen Bali Water World since the previous night, with its lights and ignition on.
She confirmed upon police's arrival at the scene a Gold Opel Zafira with two occupants, a 41-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both with gunshot wounds to the head, were found.
Mambo says both occupants were certified dead at the scene and the firearm was found in between the male occupant’s legs.
“Upon investigation it was discovered that the vehicle and firearm belong to the male deceased. Further investigation revealed that the male deceased was an IT specialist from Bohlokong, Bethlehem, and the female deceased is his girlfriend, originally from Phuthaditjhaba."
Mbambo says it is alleged that the woman was last seen on June the 25th when she said she was going to meet with her boyfriend.
The two are alleged to have had an argument prior to the incident.
“The names of the deceased cannot be released until the next of kin have been informed and the bodies have been identified,” said Mbambo.
