#ChildTragedies: Toddler dies following accident in FS─── LUCKY NKUYANE 07:36 Mon, 29 Jun 2020
A three-year-old child was killed and her father seriously injured after a bakkie collided with them on the N8 towards Petrusburg, 50 kilometres outside Bloemfontein in the Free State.
ER24 Emergency Medical Service spokesperson, Ross Campbell, says they were found lying on the ground next to the highway.
He adds that the girl was declared dead on the scene while her father was treated with advanced life support interventions before being transported to a private hospital for further care.
OFM News previously reported that a two-year-old was killed after being knocked down by an unknown motorist in a hit-and-run that took place in Hani Park, Bronville, near Welkom.
It's not yet clear if any arrest have been made following this latest incident. The police are yet to comment.
Both the South African Police Services and the Traffic Department were on-scene for further investigations, Campbell adds.
