The provincial police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, says police responded to information that the community is protesting on the R565 road on Monday morning. He states it is alleged that a bus was set alight during the protest. He further says the protest apparently relates to a memorandum of demands which was handed to a mine in the area. Mokgwabone says the situation is currently calm and being monitored.
