CUT bemoans #GBV death of student─── MARVIN NTSANE 10:36 Tue, 30 Jun 2020
The Central University of Technology (CUT) in the Free State bemoans the loss of a female student due to gender-based violence.
It is alleged that a first-year student at the university, known as Dimakatso Mokoena, was found shot dead in a car.
CUT spokesperson, Dan Maritz, says the police are still investigating the matter. He further says her death is not only a loss to her family, but also to the entire CUT community and the nation.
Maritz adds that the university has joined President Ramaphosa's call to stand against any form of brutal attack on women and children. He says gender-based violence is a global pandemic and the CUT strongly condemns it.
