#CoronavirusFS: Mangaung Metro's headquarters closed again─── MARVIN NTSANE 15:48 Thu, 02 Jul 2020
Another employee at the Mangaung Metro Municipality's Bram Fischer Building has tested positive for Covid-19.
The municipality's spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, says this employee falls in the vulnerable group as categorised by the department of health. He says the employee is currently placed under quarantine. He also states that the building has been closed for the decontamination process.
Khedama says the metro is continuously working on plans for employees who fall in the vulnerable group to work from home. He says the building will reopen on Friday 3 July 2020. Meanwhile, all operations at the metro's regional offices and pay points will continue as normal.
Another worker at this same building tested positive for Covid-19 late last month. Khedama said the worker was screened daily without showing any symptoms. He added the first signs only appeared later. The employee then went to a private medical facility for testing and the results came back as positive. The building was temporarily closed for decontamination purposes.
